The purpose of this course is to review the role of plaque in the initiation of periodontal disease, share novel insights on the mechanism by which stannous fluoride reduces plaque-induced gingivitis, and discuss practical implications for dental professionals.

This course will examine the concepts of staging and grading to classify each patient by complexity of case management, likelihood of less predictable response to therapy, and potential for periodontitis development.

Dental professionals are often times fixated on the idea that toothpaste abrasiveness is the key factor in tooth wear. This course will review the history of RDA and modern erosive tooth wear; which will demonstrate that acid-mediated tooth wear, so-called erosive tooth wear, is the dominant process for tooth loss. The course will also focus on prevention strategies to reduce the risk of erosive tooth wear.
