Universal Waste Management

Universal waste management programs promote the collection and recycling of a certain widely generated subset of hazardous wastes, known as universal waste.14 Currently, there are five types of wastes covered under universal waste regulations: hazardous waste batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment, fluorescent lamps, and aerosol cans (40 CFR Part 273).
